ABOUT

Described as “a radiant new voice in the choral world,” Aeternum is Northern California’s newest professional vocal ensemble, co-founded by Artistic Director Bailey Cooke and Executive Director Brady Egbert. Made up of singers from the Bay Area, across the country, and the U.K., Aeternum brings together a unique mix of talent, heart, and artistry.

The idea for Aeternum started over ten years ago, when Brady and Bailey met in their high school choir. They quickly bonded over a deep love for choral music—something that’s stayed central to their friendship ever since. After years of dreaming and planning, they decided to create the kind of ensemble they had always hoped to sing in: one that pushes boundaries, celebrates storytelling, and gathers voices from near and far.

Aeternum’s programs blend centuries of musical tradition with fresh perspectives. From Hildegard von Bingen to Caroline Shaw, we perform everything from early music to bold, contemporary works—while championing living and historically underrepresented composers.

Our debut series, Echoes of Light, sold out and was praised for its “immersive sonic world” and “imaginative programming.” Most recently, In Rest and Remembrance offered a moving exploration of life’s final moments and the peace that can come with letting go, featuring music by Gustav Holst, Caroline Shaw, and Ralph Vaughan Williams.

We’re also passionate about education. Through partnerships with local schools, Title I campuses, and libraries, Aeternum offers workshops, mentorship, and live performances that help fill the growing gap in arts access—and hopefully spark a lifelong love of singing in young people.

With performances across Napa, San Francisco, Marin, and the East Bay, we’re just getting started. But at the core of everything we do is a simple belief: choral music has the power to bring people together, to move us, and to change lives.
